Monsanto: Pwnd

Monsanto, which has been harrassing farmers for doing what they've done for thousands of years, saving back seed from their crops, has had 4 patents rejected due to filings by PUBPAT.
NEW YORK – July 24, 2007 -- The Public Patent Foundation (PUBPAT) announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has rejected four key Monsanto patents related to genetically modified crops that PUBPAT challenged last year because the agricultural giant is using them to harass, intimidate, sue - and in some cases literally bankrupt - American farmers.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of folks.... (Hat Tip: Astoria)

A July 1, 2007 article in the 'New York Times' (Denise Caruso) casts serious doubt on the fundamental scientific assumptions which, over the past decade, have been at the basis of genetic engineering and the patenting of GMO's.

I'm just glad to see that they are finally getting the smack-down that they deserve. Their practices have been predatory.
